Arsenal boss threatened with sack with Bergkamp favourite to replace him

Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger is reported to be under threat of the sack this week, while Dennis Bergkamp has been installed as favourite to succeed the Frenchman.

News sources are claiming that a loss to Hull City this week would see Wenger asked to step-down from his role as manager.

A failure to win at the KC Stadium tomorrow will be the club’s sixth consecutive match without a win, and would likely see them eliminated from the FA Cup, while Arsenal are also on the brink of an exit from the Champions League, and have dropped tamely out of the title race at present.

Leicester have built up a nice eight point gap on the Gunners, with Tottenham three points closer in second, in a season where the usual title suspects are all struggling.

Dennis Bergkamp is claimed to be the most likely successor should Wenger be given the chop, with SkyBet posting him up as the 10/1 favourite, with the next in the betting available at 14/1.
