Arsenal have had scouts watch Porto midfielder Ruben Neves on two occasions in the last week, the Metro reports.
The 18 year-old has been restricted to start only four of his side’s 10 Primeira Liga games this season, but has started all five of their Champions League group stage matches so far this term.
The defensive midfielder made his debut as a 17 year-old back in August 2014, scoring against Maritimo in a 2-0 win.
Neves is yet to score for his club since, but has notched up two goals for Portugal’s Under-21 side, although he was called up to the senior side this month to take on Luxembourg and Russia.
The wonderkid is highly rated across Europe, and has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but is likely to be the subject of a move by the Gunners.
Arsenal are known for their ability to blood young talent into their first-team, much in the way that Hector Bellerin and Cesc Fabregas previously earned key roles in the side despite their age.
