The Metro is reporting that Arsenal have made an offer to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
The Gabon international has been in spectacular goalscoring form this season, scoring 27 goals in all competitions, including 18 in his 17 Bundesliga outings so far this campaign.
His impressive year has attracted strong interest from a host of top European clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, and the latter are believed to have now tabled an offer in hope of sealing his arrival.
The North-London side are said to have sent an offer of £44.6 Million, which is around £2 Million more than the club record fee paid for Mesut Ozil previously.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with adding a striker to their squad, with Olivier Giroud and the injury-prone Theo Walcott currently vying for the central role.
Arsenal will be looking to bolster in order to cement their place at the top of the table, having built a three-point lead over Manchester City, who currently occupy third-place.
Leicester City of course are the closest in the table to the league leaders, but are not expected to be able to withhold their early season form for the entire campaign, although many neutral fans will be cheering them on to do so.
