Arsenal are thought to be preparing a January move for Ipswich’s Tyrone Mings, as revealed on TalkSport.
The youngster has just won the September Player of the Month award for the Championship, and has been one of the stand-out players for his Ipswich side which currently lie in sixth place.
The 21 year-old has been linked with Crystal Palace and Chelsea recently, but Arsenal are thought to now be at the head of the queue, lining up a bid to buy the full-back in the coming window.
The Gunners are keen to bolster their defensive options in January, having failed to replace the departed Thomas Vermaelen in the summer, and have recently fallen foul of a number of injuries.
The coveted youngster signed a new contract last month, tying him to the Tractor Boys until 2017, but his club will be put under pressure to sell in the near future.
The left-back has clocked up 28 Championship appearances so far, and is currently playing a key-role for his new club.
