Pigs Fly across Brighton Pier as the Seagulls take on the Premier League challenge at odds of 5,000/1
Pigs were spotted ‘flying’ across Brighton Pier in East Sussex today as Marathonbet unveiled odds of 5,000/1 for Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club to win the Premier League this season.
The online bookmaker sent four pigs soaring high above the iconic Brighton landmark this morning to mark the Seagulls return to the top flight as the Brighton and Hove Albion team attempt to achieve the seemingly impossible.
Ahead of their opening match against Manchester City this weekend, Football Legends Andy Townsend and Alan Smith were in Brighton to witness the flying pigs display and consider Brighton’s chances of success this season.
Smith said, Smith said: “Brighton are coming off a wonderful season that launched them to Premier League status, no one believed Leicester City could do it the season before last so why can’t the Seagulls? They’re up against it but with Marathonbet flying pigs – how can you rule out Brighton from achieving the extraordinary.”
BRIGHTON to win the Premier League: 5,000/1
As part of a trio of enhanced Premier League title prices, Marathonbet is also offering 5,000/1 on newly-promoted Huddersfield and 2,500/1 for Newcastle United to win the Premier League.
Michael Rasmussen, Marathonbet representative, said: “Marathonbet is all about the extraordinary – much like Leicester City’s Premier League win in 2015/16. Most experts will comment that the newly promoted teams don’t have a chance but we disagree, and those who believe in the ‘impossible’ should be rewarded with these enhanced prices.
“Some people say pigs will fly before that happens but how many people woke up today expecting to see pigs flying across Brighton seafront?”
