Marko Grujic is expected to travel to Anfield to complete a medical this week, ahead of his proposed move to Liverpool, the Express reports.
The 19 year-old has been impressing for Red Star Belgrade this term, scoring five goals in 21 appearances, as his side have broken away from the chasing pack in the Serbian Super Liga, building up a huge 25 point lead after only 22 matches.
Chelsea and Inter Milan had been linked with moves for the Serbian Under-21 international, but it is Liverpool who are set to land his signature.
Ian Ayre travelled to meet him last week in order to talk to the midfielder, and after talking to Jurgen Klopp personally, has agreed to take the leap and join the Merseyside club.
Part of the agreement will see Red Star pay Liverpool a small fee to keep the youngster on loan until the end of the season, with another part of the deal seeing the Serbian league leaders receive 10% of any future selling on fee the Reds receive.
