Marko Grujic has confirmed that he and his representatives held talks with Liverpool at the weekend, the Telegraph reports.
The 19 year-old played and scored in Red Star Belgrade’s 7-2 win over Cukaricki in the league on Saturday, whilst being watched by scouts from Anfield.
Grujic’s goal at the weekend brought his tally up to five goals so far this season, in his 19 Super Liga appearances.
The player revealed that talks were held following the game, but that no move will be happening before the end of the season.
“It is certain that I remain here until the end of qualifying for the Champions League,” Grujic said.
“I had a talk with Liverpool, but I did not receive yet any agreement. I’m still a Red Star player.
“I’ll try to respect the club, the fans and the general public, but I think that for myself I have to choose the best environment, where I will get the chance to play and where I work with good coaches in good conditions.”
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the Serbian wonderkid, who helped his Under-20 international side to win the World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year.
Inter Milan and Roma are also claimed to be interested in the young midfielder, who is rated at around £5 Million.
