Chelsea have endured a tough season so far, teetering around the relegation zone, before climbing up into a position to now challenge for a place in Europe.
Following a change in management in December, more squad members have been rotated into playing more regularly, with Baba Rahman, Mikel, Kenedy and Bertrand Traore all enjoying much more action.
All four of the aforementioned quartet played a part in last night’s victory over Norwich City, which saw them climb to eighth position in the Premier League, with Kenedy grabbing an early opener despite starting the match at left-back.
The youngsters could be set to get more chances as the season comes to a close also, with Diego Costa said to be expected to be given a rest in some matches, and the squad still needed to play in the Champions League and FA Cup.
Hiddink revealed that Traore and Brazilian Kenedy have been impressing in training, and deserve their chance.
“They [Bertrand Traoré and Kenedy] are knocking on the door,” Hiddink said after their victory.
“They work seriously in training and then you have to play them, especially when there is a tight schedule.
“They need the experience of playing from the start in intense Premier League games which is why I don’t hesitate to bring them in.
“Traoré came on in the previous games and had good appearances with goals.
“Starting is a little bit different but it’s good to have that experience.
“He stumbled a couple of times when he normally could have scored but that is a good experience for him.”
Chelsea have had little to be happy about this term, but the club could be set for an exciting end to the season.
