Piers Morgan has urged his club Arsenal to invest in signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester City in the coming window, the Metro reports.
The 28 year-old has just tied Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record for scoring in 10 consecutive Premier League games, which he will get the chance to break next weekend against Manchester United.
Vardy has deservedly come under the spotlight this term, and is being linked with moves to bigger clubs in the January transfer window, with Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and even Spanish giants Real Madrid all claimed to hold to hold an interest.
Arsenal fan and shareholder Piers Morgan has now tweeted his desire for his club to sign the Leicester City forward.
Vardy has fired his side to sit on top of the highly competitive Premier League table currently, one point above Manchester United in second-place.
Morgan posted on Twitter: ‘Arsenal could do worse than sign Jamie Vardy in January. He looks the real deal – like the young Michael Owen.’
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen on signing a new striker in the winter window, but whether he sees the current Premier League goalscorer as the perfect fit for his squad is yet to be seen.
