Ezequiel Lavezzi is reported on TalkSport as having agreed to join Barcelona from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
The Argentine forward had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the next year, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool all believed to be keen.
Lavezzi is now claimed to have agreed to join the Catalan giants at the end of the season, when his current contract expires.
He is claimed to have a three-year deal worth £60,000 per week to join the club, which according to BR, would be a slight decrease on his £3.5 Million current salary.
An agreement however would have to mean that PSG had given Barcelona permission to talk to the winger, which seems unlikely for me, unless the Catalan club agreed to pay a fee to the French giants.
The 30 year-old is allowed to talk to other clubs about a pre-contract agreement from January, and at this early point in the season, the French club would most likely want their players concentrating on their current campaign, and not on future possibilities.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Spanish reports had proved to be untrue, and maybe he could yet arrive in England…
