Liverpool and Man United blow as agent rules out January move

Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is going nowhere in the coming window, the DailyStar has quoted the player’s agent Kamel Bengougam as saying.

The Leicester City winger has been in outstanding form this season, helping his side to top the Premier League table currently.

Mahrez has scored 13 goals in his 16 league outings this season, firing himself to joint-second in the goalscoring charts, two goals behind team-mate Jamie Vardy at the top of the pile.

The pair’s form has led to a string of links with top clubs chasing their signatures, but the agent of Mahrez has spoken out to rule out such a move.

Bengougam said: “I think he will stay in January.

“I don’t think Leicester want to sell him and he is focused on doing well with them.”

The Algerian has attracted interest from so-called bigger clubs Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United, although with the Foxes chasing an unlikely title win, a January exit would most likely be far from their current thoughts.

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri previously led Chelsea to second in the division, and currently look deserving of a surprise title win.
