Liverpool deadline day appears quiet as Teixeira and Cheryshev captures seem dead

Liverpool look set to complete a boring deadline day, with no big arrivals currently expected on Merseyside.

The Reds have been linked with a number of top stars this month, with Jurgen Klopp believed to be keen on bolstering the squad he inherited from former boss Brendan Rodgers.

Alex Teixeira was one of the most heaviest linked, but Liverpool appear to have baulked at his asking price, although you can hardly blame Shakhtar for their high valuation.

January prices are known to be inflated, and with the Brazilian having scored a huge 22 goals in only 15 league matches, you can hardly complain about their high asking price.

Reports had been claiming Liverpool had since turned their attentions to signing Real Madrid’s Denis Cheryshev on loan, with the winger out of favour in the Spanish capital.

Now the speculation is denying an offer from the Anfield club, and Seville now appear favourites to land the Russian.
