Liverpool eyeing risky £18M move for former Man United striker

The Independent is reporting that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is looking at a deal to sign Giuseppe Rossi from Fiorentina in January.

The Italy international has struggled with a number of injuries in recent seasons, having missed the entire 2014-15 campaign, and having notched up only 30 league appearances since making the switch to La Viola in 2012.

The Reds are now eyeing a move to bring him to Anfield, despite his former stint for long-time rivals Manchester United previously.

Rossi joined United as a 17 year-old and picked up five Premier League appearances for the club before being loaned out to Newcastle at the age of 19, and then Parma a year later.

Villareal then agreed a €10.5 Million deal to sign him from the Red Devils, and should Jurgen Klopp get his way, he could return to England for another crack at English football.

Rossi was very young when struggling to settle in the English top flight, and I would be more worried about his proneness to injury in recent seasons, especially with £18 Million being touted as the fee.
