Liverpool have been in talks with Steve Mandanda’s agent ahead of a proposed move from Marseille in January, the DailyStar reports.
The France international is out of contract at the end of the season, and is said to be available for as little as £3 Million, as his club attempt to stop him leaving for free in the summer.
Norwich City, Newcastle and Aston Villa are all believed to be keen on his capture, but with Simon Mignolet having come under strong pressure in recent seasons, Liverpool have been contacted about his possible transfer.
New Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with bringing in a new shot-stopper in the coming month, although is believed to be pursuing possible deal’s to sign Timo Horn or Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, both of German nationality.
The latter is currently playing second-fiddle to Claudio Bravo at Barcelona, and could be tempted to force a move in hope of regular first-team action.
