Fenerbahce are seeking talks with Liverpool over the possible transfer of Lazar Markovic, the DailyStar reports.
The Turkish giants are hoping to secure a £7 Million deal for the winger, who failed to make an immediate impact after making the switch from Benfica in 2014.
Markovic picked up 19 appearances for the Reds last term, but was sent out on loan having failed to secure a regular role under Brendan Rodgers.
His temporary club are now looking to try and keep the winger beyond his season-long loan, despite having failed to score in any of 11 Super Lig matches with the club.
The Serbian international recently hinted at a possible stay with his on-loan club, claiming there was no reason not to stay with Fenerbahce.
Markovic said: “If I can stay at Fenerbahce, why not?”
The winger did blame his relationship with former manager Brendan Rodgers for his failure to settle with Liverpool previously, and the recent change in management could change his views on a return.
“That was a problem. I played in many positions but didn’t play in mine.”
Markovic is under contract until 2019, and Jurgen Klopp will most likely have a look at the 21 year-old before agreeing his permanent departure.
