Manchester City are claimed in the Express as having prioritised the signing of Leroy Sane from Schalke.
The 19 year-old has enjoyed a rise through the ranks with his Bundesliga side, and has recently earned his first cap for the senior Germany squad, having played against France in a friendly in November.
Sane has netted four goals in his 17 appearances in the German league so far, and is attracting interest from some of Europe’s big clubs.
Liverpool are known to be one of his admirers, with manager Jurgen Klopp hinting at a possible move recently, but it is Manchester City who are now said to be preparing a move for the attacking midfielder.
The Citizens are said to have made Sane a key target for the current window, having kept tabs on the wonderkid for the past two years.
Shalke are believed to be in want of £32 Million for his signature, and will not be cup-tied for the Champions League should he make the switch this month.
