27-year old Manchester United winger Nani has caught the attention of Fulham manager Rene Muelensteen, reports the Metro. The former Manchester United coach faces an uphill battle to save the Cottagers from relegation this season and is reportedly looking towards Nani to help him achieve that objective. Nani has not played a significant role at Old Trafford of late and is set to be sent on loan to Sporting Lisbon this month.
Reports suggest that Muelensteen is looking to hijack the loan move in a bid to bring Nani to Fulham. One cannot be sure though if the idea of joining Fulham would appeal to Nani, with the Cottagers not having had the best of seasons so far. A move back to his home country though would put Nani, who signed a new 5 year deal with United recently, back in a comfort zone where he could work his way back to form before the next season.
That being said, Fulham are desperate to land Nani as their ace midfielder Bryan Ruiz, who has struggled this season, is set to seal a permanent move to PSV Eindhoven this month and Muelensteen will struggle to find a talent like Nani available in the January market.
