Fernando Torres has an offer to become the highest paid player in world football, according to his agent Jose Antonio Martin.
The Spaniard was previously touted as one of the best forwards on the planet, but following a £50 Million switch to Chelsea, that tag slowly faded.
Torres arrived at Stamford Bridge having scored an impressive 56 league goals, in only 79 appearances for Liverpool prior to that move.
The striker then returned a measly 20 goals in his 110 league matches in a blue shirt, before the club finally gave up hope of him coming good.
Torres has since returned to his first senior club Atletico Madrid, but with first-team football not currently being offered to him, his agent is seeking a solution for his client.
Martin claims that the Atleti squad player has an offer to become the world’s highest paid players, but an agreement needs to be made between Torres and Atletico’s manager Diego Simeone.
‘Fernando and [Diego] Simeone should sit down and talk about [his future],’ his agent Jose Antonio Martin said.
‘He has an offer that would make him the best-paid in the world. There are nuances. It all depends upon the will of the club.’
