Tottenham Hotspurs’ Paulinho could be on his way back to Brazil, the Mirror is claiming.
The 26 year-old is yet to start a single match so far this season, and is being linked with a sensational return to Brazil, with former club Corinthians and Sao Paulo keen on his signature.
Corinthians sold Paulinho to Tottenham for £17 Million just over a year ago, but has fallen down the pecking order at White Lane since new manager Mauricio Pochettino arrived from Southampton.
His previous clubs sporting director Edu Gaspar claimed his side would be able to cope with his £70,000 per week wage packet, saying: “The door is open for Paulinho as he is still very popular here. I don’t think the financial package would be an issue.”
Chelsea were rumoured to be keen on the Brazilians signature in the summer, with Real Madrid said to be eyeing up a move for Ramires, but no such deal was put in place.
The Blues are not expected to buy any players in the coming window, so the Brazil international may have to return home in search of first-team football.
