Bolstered by new found financial resources promised by soon to be new owner of the club Peter Lim, Valencia are set to launch a significant bid for 27-year old Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, reports Talksport. The Bosnian has played fewer than 50 league games for City since his 27 million pound move from Wolfsburg in 2011 and Valencia manager Antonio Pizzi, who has been a long term admirer of the striker is looking to make a move for the Bosnian this month.
One doesn’t see Manchester City letting go of Dzeko this season though as the former Bundesliga star is beginning to get a run of games going for the Citizens this season and has shown good goalscoring form. An injury to ace striker Sergio Aguero has helped Dzeko make 15 Premier League appearances this season, in which he has netted 5 times for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Moreover, City’s Chilean manager has stated his desire to compete on all four fronts this season which makes Dzeko essential to the team’s cause. Also, Dzeko, who himself may have been wanting to force a move away from the Etihad, might want to revisit his stance as he is beginning to play a bigger for Manchester City under new manager Pellegrini this season.
