Chelsea boss upsets Real Madrid with deal hijacking

Chelsea are reported in the Metro as having swooped in on the transfer of Lucas Silva, despite Real Madrid having been in talks with the player about a January move.

The Cruzeiro midfielder has been a stand-out performer in the Brazilian Mineiro, and now looks to be on his way to the Premier League. It is not yet clear whether the Brazilian youngster will be given a work permit, having not featured for the Brazil senior team.

Real Madrid are said to be fuming at Chelsea’s hijacking of their talks, with former boss Jose Mourinho having swooped late into negotiations.

The Blues were expected to buy Madrid’s Sami Khedira in the coming window, with the Castilla keen on the 21 year-old coming in as his replacement.

Now Arsenal appear to be in pole position to sign the German, with Chelsea appearing to have changed targets.

Khedira is available on a free transfer next summer unless the La Liga giants can find a buyer at the start of next year, with AC Milan also thought to be interested in his signature.
