Chelsea ready to kick-start busy January window with 23-goal Brazilian

Chelsea are claimed in the Express to be looking to sign Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk during what looks to be a busy transfer window.

The Premier League champions have struggled heavily this season, winning only four of their 13 league outings, leaving them down in 15th position in the league currently.

Roman Abramovich is expected to back manager Jose Mourinho in the transfer market, having been rather quiet in the previous window, in order to kick-start their season.

The Blues are speculated to be willing to cut Radamel Falcao’s loan deal short, and are linked with in-form English striker’s Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane, as well as Saido Berahino, who is not quite as hot as his England compatriots currently.

Chelsea are also linked with another attempt to sign either John Stones or Marquinhos from Everton and PSG respectively.

The club are expected to start proceedings with the capture of Teixeira however, who has confirmed talks over a move to Stamford Bridge in January, and can boast a huge 23 goals in all competitions so far this season.
