European heavyweights Barcelona and PSG in monster power battle

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are currently at loggerhead over the signing of Marco Verratti, and the French side are looking to show their rivals their strength.

The Spanish giants moved in for Verratti this summer, supposedly persuading the Italian international that he wanted to move clubs, and the Paris club have taken the move angrily.

This reminds me and my friends at Profit Accumulator of the showdown between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather which is currently trending, as PSG responded to their rival’s unwelcomed pursuit of Verratti by trying to unsettle world superstar Neymar.

The French giants are supposedly willing to match the Brazilian’s astonishing €222 Million release clause, which Barca are obligated to accept, all in a bid to derail the Spaniard’s pursuit of their key star.

The bookmakers clearly don’t know how these pursuits will end up, with Neymar between 1/2 (1.5) and 2/1 (3.0) to join the Parisiens, while Verratti sits around the 7/4 (2.75) mark to end up a Catalan come the end of the summer window.

If you do look to take up a price on the transfer market, it may be worth taking up a special from and get a bonus to get your betting fund boosted.

The saga between Paris and Barca looks likely to roll on at present, with rumours refusing to die down despite the president of the Spanish side claiming that Neymar will not be leaving the club.

Verratti is tied to PSG until 2021 having signed a new contract only 12 months ago, but has been rumoured to have fallen out with his management team this term.

Manchester United are also linked with an interest in signing the central midfielder, but Anthony Martial is believed to be wanted as part of the deal, a player that the Red Devils appear to be unwilling to part with.

Will Barcelona have to give up on their pursuit of Verratti? Will the two clubs ever smooth things over or will the feud only grow?
