Former Blues duo tipped to replace under-pressure Chelsea boss

Claude Makelele and Carlo Ancelotti are being touted to replace Jose Mourinho, the Express reports.

The Portuguese manager has failed to spark his players into any kind of form this season, and currently sit down in 15th place, a huge 14 points behind league leaders Manchester City after only 11 matches.

Mounrinho’s job was said to be hinging on whether he could stop Liverpool from securing a win at Stamford Bridge, which he failed to do, and is now awaiting to find out if he will keep his job, with many sources claiming he will be sacked before the Champions League game in midweek.

Carlo Ancelotti has been backed into around 4/1 to be the next man in charge, and has refused to rule himself out of the running for the job, despite claiming he would not oust the current Blues boss, stating the club “already have a manager to solve their problems.”

The Italian said: “In football you have to be ready to go anywhere.

“The English league has fascinated me a lot, but I’m willing to go anywhere.

“Chelsea or Bayern? At the moment it’s just gossip and nothing more.

“Mourinho has difficulties, but Chelsea have taken a clear decision to back him, and they’ve done well to do so.

“Guardiola has no problems at Bayern and has no reason to change.

“Could I go back to Chelsea? That’s a trick question, the Blues already have a manager to solve their problems.”

Reports also claim that he would bring Makelele back to the bridge, having worked behind the scenes at Paris Saint-Germain previously.
