Arsenal are claimed in the Metro to be ready to table an offer to sign Nolito from Celta Vigo this week.
The striker scored at the weekend to take his tally to eight in 13 La Liga appearances, helping his side to stay in the top four, only nine points behind leaders Barcelona.
Nolito has earned a regular place in the Spain national squad following a rapid rise in form, and he remains highly likely to be in the squad for the Euro 2016 tournament next summer.
The 29 year-old is also heavily linked with a move in January, with Barcelona and Arsenal both interested, but it is the latter who are said to be set to launch an offer in the coming few days.
Nolito was a part of the Catalan club’s set-up previously, but was mainly restricted to playing in their B team, but did manage five appearances for the senior side 2010-11 season before joining Benfica the following summer.
