Liverpool expected to get off to a flying start next season with a home win

Liverpool are expected to make an emphatic start to their 2013-14 season having already made quality additions to their expanding arsenal of attacking talent in the form of recent arrivals like Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas, while also improving their defensive and goalkeeping positions as well in the form of signing Kolo Toure and Simon Mignolet respectively.

The Reds are strongly tipped to win their first game of the season when they play Stoke City at Anfield with Unibet offering odds of 1.45 on a home win while the best odds one can get on a draw are an unlikely 5.00, and a Stoke win at 10.00, both offered by Spread Ex.

Stoke City have changed their manager from Tony Pulis to Mark Hughes this season and are likely to take time to click under the new Manager. They also enjoy a much inferior head to head record against Liverpool – 29 wins to the Reds’ 55.

Additionally, Liverpool will be buoyed by the return to full fitness of their captain and icon Steven Gerrard and that should give them the impetus necessary to make a bright start to the 2013-14 campaign.
