Liverpool looking to reignite interest in South-American Arsenal target

Liverpool are looking to make a move to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan, the DailyStar claims.

The Argentine striker was heavily linked with the exit door during the summer, before penning a new four year deal back in June, but is now being linked with an exit once more.

Icardi was dropped for the weekend’s 1-0 win over Roma, and is claimed to be available for around £25 Million.

Liverpool are said to be leading the chase for his signature, despite having signed Danny Ings and Christian Benteke only this summer, with the former’s fee still to be decided by a tribunal.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with an interest in last season’s joint-top goalscorer in Serie A, tied with Luca Toni on 22 goals.

Icardi joined from Sampdoria back in 2013, but could well be moving to the Premier League in the near future.

Another player linked with a move to Anfield is former captain Steven Gerrard, who is said to have held talks with Jurgen Klopp.
