Joe Hart’s season just continues to get worse by the day. After committing a series of costly errors, the England international found himself relegated to the bench at Manchester City.
However, reports in the Daily Mirror now suggest that the Citizens may be preparing to bring in Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic in the January transfer window, and may try and convince the Potters to sell by offering to loan out Joe Hart to them.
26-year old Begovic has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons and Stoke will undoubtedly try to hold on to him. However, a transfer fee of around £15m, along with a temporary deal for Hart, whose wages will apparently be paid by the Citizens may just turn out to be too good a deal to turn down.
Hart though, one feels, is just going through a rough patch and perhaps getting rid of him so early may not be the best of moves. A transfer though would guarantee Hart first team football, albeit at a much lower level.
It remains to be seen if City take such a drastic step, especially after Hart has shown some sign of resurgence in recent matches for England.
