Manchester City youngster John Guidetti is understood to be nearing a loan move to Stoke City, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 21 year old has fallen out of favour at the Etihad Stadium after suffering injuries and illnesses, time and again. Manager Manuel Pellegrini is believed to have made it clear to him that it would be nigh impossible for him to break into the Citizens’ first team as of now and it is understood that he is ready to offload him on a temporary basis to help him gain regular game time. Consequently, the Potters have come forward, offering him an escape route out of City.
Guidetti arrived at City from Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna way back in 2008 and enjoyed an impressive first season with the club Under18s. He was subsequently loaned off to Brommapojkarna, Burnley and Feyenoord in due course for his development. It was while playing for Feyenoord in the 2011-12 season that he attracted widespread attention, scoring 20 goals in 23 matches.
The likes of Liverpool, West Ham United and Malaga are also reported to be interested in the Swede, although Stoke are aiming to swoop for him before others are able to land him this winter.
