Today boasts two exciting Champions League match-ups, with Bayern Munich hosting Arsenal as well as Napoli taking on holders Real Madrid in the Spanish capital.
We start you off with our banker double, which is a straight win and both teams to score double on both home teams. footballpredictions.com has both teams to win 3-1 which clearly agrees with my prediction, but I foresee things differently to them somewhat.
I believe the most likely result in Germany to be a 2-1 home win, which would please both participants, although should Bayern grab a third, the floodgates could well open and the North-London side could face a mountain to climb back in two weeks time.
The Gunners form looks awful compared to tonight’s rivals, with Bayern having gone unbeaten since November, while Arsenal have lost twice in the last 16 matches! Those losses did come whilst Arsene Wenger was sidelined with a ban for pushing an official, and they will welcome his presence back for tonight’s crunch encounter.
In the other match, we have two very in-form sides readying to do battle, with Napoli unbeaten since losing to Juventus in late October, while the European Champions have lost only twice in all competitions since the season begun.
Real sit top of La Liga with a one point lead over Barca, but having played two matches less, will be more than comfortable with only a short lead. They will be fully concentrated on tonight’s result, and very confident, and it seems more a matter of how many goals will they score. Their defensive record is not so impressive, and the in-form Azzurri’s are likely to score at least once.
Banker double – Both Teams to score and home win in both Champions League matches.
Correct score single – Bayern 2-1 Arsenal
