Midweek European betting round-up: Arsenal value for Chelsea win?

The majority of eyes will be on the League cup encounter between English heavyweights Chelsea and Arsenal on Wednesday night, but there are other matches around Europe worth investing in.

Our friends have chosen six football predictions for tonight’s action from around Europe, and we will start with the English encounter. You can click here to follow the live score matches today or to check the kick-off times also.

A home win is expected from the London derby after their drab 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge in the opening leg, and their tipster is following form, with the Premier League champions winning only one of their last four matches, and having struggled against tonight’s opponents since the arrival of Antonio Conte. My personal pick is for both teams to score in the clash, with Chelsea having already declared an intention to attack the home side.

The next biggest spectacle from Wednesday’s fixtures sees Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon take on Porto, which should be a tight affair. The home side has only conceded once in their three previous cup outings, and are expected to hold firm against the favourites. While Porto should be the victors, the tip in that game is for less than three goals to be conceded on the night.

Udinese also travel to Lazio tonight, where the home side will be expected to continue their fine season with another win, but the away side are no strangers to scoring goals. The tipster’s pick is for a home win which won’t provide the largest odds, but my personal pick would be for Lazio to win and both teams to score in the match.

Tipster’s Wednesday picks:

Arsenal win
Lazio win
Under 3.0 goals in Sporting v Porto tie
Over 3.0 goals in Antwerp v Gent tie
Over 3.0 goals in Lokeren v Genk tie
Under 2.0 goals in Olympiacos v AEK Athens tie

Personal picks:

Both teams to score in Arsenal v Chelsea tie
Lazio win and both to score
Porto win
