Diego Simeone is claimed to have told his club he is leaving at the end of the season, in order to join Chelsea FC.
The Argentine boss has earned plaudits from a host of sources following his meteoric rise with Atletico, even helping them to win the Primeira Liga title ahead of European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Simeone also led his side to the Champions League final that season, which they were unlucky not to win, having been denied victory by 92nd minute equaliser, which sent the game into extra time.
The former international star is now believed to have agreed a whopping £9.28 Million per-season contract to join Premier League champions Chelsea.
This could be lead to a wildly exciting time for English football, with Pep Guardiola having agreed to join Manchester City this summer, Jurgen Klopp having joined Liverpool this term, and Jose Mourinho also expected to take over the helm at Manchester United.
