The Secret Footballer claims a scout at Arsenal blames Arsene Wenger for being indecisive in the transfer market, the Star reports.
The Gunners failed to sign a single outfield player this summer, despite being linked with a number of defensive midfielders and attackers.
The Secret Footballer has now claimed he spoke with a scout from their camp, who blames their manager Wenger for failing to follow up on their scouts recommendations.
Arsenal are claimed to have had scouts watch new Tottenham signing Son Heung-Min on a huge 30 occasions last term, with all the reports coming out positive, with the scout said to have adding he was ‘100% perfect’ for the club.
The South Korean forward has been an impressive for performer for their North-London rivals so far this term, before suffering an injruy, but he is expected back soon.
TSF also claimed that Arsenal had a deal in principle to sign new Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin in place in January, before Wenger changed his mind, allowing him to bolster the Red Devils challenge on the Premier League title.
He said: “I met up with my friend, an Arsenal scout, last week.
“I pointed out that Tottenham Hotspur’s summer recruit, Son Heung-Min, is one of the most impressive players I’ve seen at White Hart Lane since Gareth Bale.
“Immediately, the scout took his phone out of his pocket and showed me a scouting report from last season.
Arsenal watched Son almost 30 times last season, with all the scouts in agreement that the player would be a fantastic addition.
“So what happened?
“It’s Arsene [Wenger],” the scout said. “He’s so indecisive it’s frightening. We had [Morgan] Schneiderlin done and dusted last January and, by the summer, the gaffer had changed his mind.
“Son was 100 per cent perfect for us.”
